Statement of Support for the First Nations Voice to Parliament

Nightingale Housing supports enshrining a First Nations Voice in the Australian Constitution, as proposed in the Uluru Statement from the Heart. 

Community connection and environmental sustainability are central to the work we do as an organisation. We honour and respect the cultural traditions and stewardship of the land that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have continued for sixty millenia.

Constitutional recognition of the First Peoples of Australia, and the enshrinement of their Voice at the highest level of law, on the issues that impact their lives, has long been called for and is an essential step towards a just society.
