Conceived by Six Degrees Architects and delivered in collaboration with HIP V. HYPE, Nightingale 2 is the second completed Nightingale project. Nightingale 2 is situated next to Fairfield Railway Station in Melbourne’s north. Its rare ‘island’ site allows light and cross-ventilation throughout the building, with every apartment enjoying north-facing living areas and bedrooms looking out to the south.

Six Degrees envisioned the mass of the building material interrupted down the centre and across the skyline, with greenery emerging through the core and across the rooftop like a ruin. Open, external walkways provide engagement with the street below, from where passers-by can see timber accents adding warmth to heavy concrete facades.

We acknowledge the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation, the Traditional Custodians of the land upon which Nightingale 1 stands. We recognise their continuing connection to land, waters, and culture.
